John A. Vann

John Vann is an Executive Managing Director of Banyan Partners based in Dallas/Fort Worth. He has over 40 years experience in the investment industry and is a member of the Banyan investment policy committee. In addition to working one-on-one with clients to help them achieve their investment objectives, John serves as a member of the portfolio team and is responsible for conducting fundamental research and stock selection.

Prior to joining Banyan, John was the founder and President/CEO of Rushmore Investment Advisors, Inc., a Texas-based registered investment advisor acquired by Banyan in 2013. John began his career with E.F. Hutton & Company in 1972 and was one of the founders of Hutton Capital Management. He founded Rushmore Investment Advisors in 1996 and is the architect of the Firm’s investment philosophy and process.

John earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Colorado, along with a number of industry certificates from leading education institutions such as NY Institute of Finance and The Wharton School.  John is the author of Leadership Investing, published by McGraw Hill.
