2012 FIVE STAR Wealth Manager – Five Star Professional, as a third-party research firm, partnered with Boston magazine to find wealth managers who satisfied 10 objective eligibility and evaluation criteria that are associated with wealth managers who provide quality services to their clients. Award candidates were identified by one of three sources: firm nomination, peer nomination or prequalification.
Five Star Professional relied on internal and external research data, including a survey to more than 13,300 registered financial services professionals and all identified financial service companies in the Boston area that are registered with FINRA or the SEC.
Survey recipients were asked to nominate wealth managers they felt were worthy of consideration for the Five Star Wealth Manager award. Each wealth manager was reviewed for disciplinary actions, customer complaints and regulatory actions as reported by regulatory agencies. The evaluation was based on criteria, including customer service, integrity, knowledge/expertise, communication, value for fee charged, meeting of financial objectives, post sale service, quality of recommendations, and overall satisfaction. After review by a panel of local industry experts and a review of regulatory history, Five Star Professional determined the final list of 2012 Five Star Wealth Managers scoring highest in overall satisfaction and representing less than 3% of the approximately 19,400 wealth managers in the Boston area. The results of the survey should not be interpreted as reflecting the approval or disapproval of Banyan’s services by clients, and is not intended to be indicative of or a promise of future performance.
